Paraíso Dourado is a tourist apartment complex on Estrada Francisco Rodrigues Jardim, in the Zarcoshopping development between Vila Baleira and Campo de Baixo on Porto Santo. The national tourism register lists it as an apartamento turístico development (RNET 6573) with 52 apartments for up to 168 guests, one of them adapted for reduced mobility. It is run by the same group as the nearby Areia Dourada hotel, according to the contact details in the register.
Where exactly is it?
The complex sits inland of the coast road; Booking.com puts the beach about 300 m away. In a straight line, Vila Baleira's main church is about 1.7 km, the airport about 2.6 km, the ferry harbour about 3.9 km and the golf course about 1.6 km. OpenStreetMap shows a bus stop named Apartamentos Turísticos Paraíso Dourado about 75 m away, and another by the Espírito Santo chapel about 110 m away.
What is nearby?
- Porto Santo beach, a short walk across the coast road.
- Vila Baleira's seafront, cafés and church can be reached by bus or taxi, or on foot along the beach (about 1.7 km in a straight line).
- For Pico do Castelo, the viewpoints and the western headland, see the Porto Santo region guide and the Porto Santo travel guide.
What are the apartments like?
According to Booking.com, the apartments are fully furnished with a kitchen that includes a dishwasher and a washing machine, and have balconies; some have a private barbecue. The complex has an outdoor pool, a bar, a large garden with a children's playground and a 24-hour front desk, and all indoor and outdoor areas are non-smoking. Covered parking is free. Booking.com notes several restaurants and two supermarkets within a 5-minute drive, which matters because there is no full-service restaurant listed on site.
Practical notes
Booking.com lists check-in from 16:00 and check-out by 12:00. The property's own website was not loading usable content when checked, so confirm details with the complex directly.
