Pestana Churchill Bay is a 57-room hotel on the seafront of Câmara de Lobos, the fishing town just west of Funchal, registered as RNET 10404. It occupies the former council chamber and fish wholesale market buildings, and Pestana describes it as the first hotel to open in the town's historic centre. It is a base for travellers who want a small-town setting with Cabo Girão and Funchal both close by.

The hotel is at Rua da Nossa Senhora da Conceição 17, facing the bay and the small harbour. In a straight line it is about 2.8 km from the Cabo Girão skywalk, about 2.5 km from Praia Formosa and about 6.8 km from Funchal's Mercado dos Lavradores. How do you get there and around without a car?
Câmara de Lobos is on the SIGA Rodoeste bus network. Since the renumbering of 9 March 2026, line 258 runs from Câmara de Lobos to Covão, and several Rodoeste routes from Funchal head west through the municipality, among them 202 (Funchal – Estreito de Câmara de Lobos) and 207 (Funchal – Ribeira Brava via the regional road). What is the property like?
According to Pestana, the 57 rooms are inspired by Winston Churchill's paintings and come in four types: Classic, Bay View Deluxe, Bay View Deluxe Superior and a family version of the last. On the rooftop there is an outdoor pool with views over the bay, sun loungers and a sauna. The Pier One Grill Terrace restaurant seats about 50 people indoors and on the terrace and serves a buffet breakfast; a bar by reception has a seaside terrace. What is nearby for walkers?
From the harbour, the cliffs of Cabo Girão rise to the west and the inland valley of Curral das Freiras lies to the north, with the Eira do Serrado viewpoint about 7 km away in a straight line.
