The Navigator – Colombus is a beachfront complex at Campo de Baixo, on Porto Santo's south coast, that reopened on 21 July 2025 in an existing building that had been closed. A Madeira newspaper report on the opening gives 188 units in total — 100 hotel rooms, 78 apartments and 10 villas, the villas still being completed at the time. The operator, The Navigator Collection, sells it as a five-star all-inclusive stay. The licence shown on Booking.com, RNET 10622, is the national register's entry for The Navigator – Colombus Apartamentos e Villas, a tourist-apartment development with 78 apartments.
Where exactly is it?
The complex lies between the coast road (ER 120) and the beach, next to the Pestana Porto Santo resort. In a straight line, Vila Baleira's main church is about 2.8 km away, the airport about 3.5 km, the ferry harbour about 4.7 km and the golf course about 1.5 km. OpenStreetMap shows a bus stop named Pestana Porto Santo about 100 m from the property.
What is nearby?
- Porto Santo beach, with direct access from the complex according to the operator.
- The quieter western end of the beach and Ponta da Calheta are about 3 km away in a straight line.
- For Pico do Castelo, the viewpoints and the town, see the Porto Santo region guide and the Porto Santo travel guide.
What does it offer?
The opening report mentions indoor and outdoor pools, spacious leisure areas and a restaurant with themed menus. Booking.com lists a pool with a view, a sauna, a sun terrace and garden, a restaurant and bar, room service, a 24-hour front desk, a tour desk, family rooms and yoga classes; rooms have air conditioning, a balcony, a flat-screen TV and soundproofing. Parking on site is free, and an airport shuttle is available for a fee.
Practical notes
Booking.com lists check-in from 15:00 and check-out by 11:00. The same report says the complex operates all year. Because hotel rooms, apartments and villas are sold under one name, check which unit type and meal plan your booking includes.
